Over six transformative days, (December 7 - 12, 2026) you'll create a portfolio of original acrylic paintings inspired by Costa Rica's extraordinary ecosystems. Paint amidst lush rainforest landscapes, pristine beaches, abundant wildlife, and one of the planet's most biologically rich environments. Along the way, you'll have opportunities to experience dolphins, sea turtles, rescued wildlife, tropical birds, and the remarkable beauty that makes the Osa Peninsula a world-renowned destination.
Return home not only with a collection of original artwork, but with unforgettable memories, renewed inspiration, and a deeper connection to the natural world. Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome to Paradise
• Arrival at Chosa Manglar Nature Retreat
• Welcome tropical refreshment
• Settle into your accommodation
• Meet your fellow artists and instructor
• Workshop orientation and creative vision-setting
• Evening: Traditional Costa Rican welcome dinner, featuring fresh local ingredients prepared by our on-site chef
Day 2 – Wildlife Inspiration & First Strokes
Morning:
• Tropical breakfast featuring fresh fruit, homemade granola, yogurt, and sourdough bread
• Guided visit to the Yaguara Wildlife Sanctuary near Puerto Jiménez
• Meet rescued animals, learn about local conservation efforts, and gather reference photographs
Midday:
• Playa Blanca for an authentic ceviche lunch
• Watch for giant sea turtles and dolphins in the tranquil waters of this rare tropical fjord
Afternoon:
• Return to studio for your first painting session
• Begin your portfolio with an acrylic work inspired by the day's wildlife encounters
• Evening: Studio dinner with the group, sharing ideas and creative inspiration
Day 3 – Immersion & Expression
• Tropical breakfast
• Full morning painting session with instructor guidance
• Light lunch at the studio
• Afternoon: Paint in the studio or plein-air throughout the park
• Evening: Sunset cocktails on the beach, followed by traditional Costa Rican dinner
Day 4 – Freedom & Flow
• Tropical breakfast
• Free morning to explore, relax, or paint independently
• Lunch at the studio
• Open-air painting session by the beach, capturing the ever changing moving picture of Golfito bay.
• Afternoon:
• Continue developing your work in the studio or unwind by the ocean
• Evening: Dinner featuring fresh local produce from regional farmers
Day 5 – Portfolio & Celebration
• Tropical breakfast
• Complete and refine your collection of paintings
• Lunch together
• Final Exhibition: Share your week's work with the group; celebrate with a prize for the community's favorite painting
• Evening: Farewell dinner at Delphines Restaurant overlooking Golfito Bay—a magical celebration of creativity and newfound friendships
Day 6 – Departure
• Traditional Costa Rican breakfast (Gallo Pinto, eggs, plantains, fresh tropical fruit, and local coffee)
• Group photographs
• Farewells and departures
